The Secret Wardrobe

Updated: Apr 13, 2022

4:00 am and I quietly walk into my secret chamber, my prayer closet. I push my hanging suits aside so I can nestle down at my little prayer desk and see my items of necessity: my Bible, journal, favorite devotionals and anointing oil. I have a flashback of the movie Narnia when the children enter into the wardrobe. They too push the coats aside and enter into an unknown secret land. Yes, I am entering into a secret land, a place of communion with my Lord. You should know the enemy is trying to distract me. He whispers this is a great time to work on that “to do list” but no! oh no, God speaks at a higher volume, one I can clearly hear and says “Come my child. Deny the things that pertain to your outward life in order to perfect the inner life and enrich your knowledge of myself.” It is here where humility and discipline meet for me. I know that I desperately need this time for direction and guidance and for blessing upon my heart. Also, I need this time again in the evening to free myself of the burdens of the days happenings and give them fully over to my Lord, into His hands so He can work it all out. Oh, then in the busy hours of the day how I need to hear His voice, see His face so He can direct my steps, activities, and responsibilities so I may receive His grace, peace, and wisdom. But wait! I wouldn’t be able to hear and recognize His voice through the day if I didn’t take the time to know Him. The Lord does not seek and ask for our time to add another chore to the day, but instead to lift our souls, lighten our loads! In exchange, I receive supernatural blessings, extended time to complete tasks. It is unexplainable only because it comes from Him! Oh how He loves you! Friends, miss everything else, but don’t miss the voice of our Heavenly Father. I encourage you to commit to a life of prayer. Remember your time in the secret place is a time to do business with your Father. A time to renounce sin, ask for a pure heart. Frankly, this is the only thing that will give you inner peace.

” For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6

In His Love,

Jeannie
