GLEE

Daddy and I

To lose a parent is so hard. You cling to anything that brings you comfort. For me, the greatest thing that brings me comfort in loosing my daddy is his writing. This is a poem he wrote about discovering he was going to be a dad. I hope you enjoy it. It’s called “GLEE”

“Exultant and magnified to its highest degree is the great joy I felt when I learned of thee. Gene, I have something to tell you said she, but I don’t want you to be mad with me. I understand, I replied. Please tell me your news. I’m having a baby and she began to cry. Sitting motionless I too begin to cry. Then, a sudden erupting spirit came through me all the way to my fingertips feeling like sparklers shooting fire and light. I then held her and put my hand on her still flat little stomach and felt the warmness of fatherhood and our new little Jeannie. I believed in God you see at this time and I cried out to Him giving thanks on Mount High as my voice begin to chime through the valleys of Heaven and her mountains so High! Jeannie Marie Scott was listed that day with a father and a mother who still crave her with GLEE; till this day in their own special ways.”
